I live in Plantsville, Conn., with my wife, Rachel, and Anna, 3, and Caleb, 1. 

I report on government waste, fraud and abuse for the Yankee Institute for Public Policy as founding editor of its investigative reporting blog, Raising Hale. I have done more than 250 broadcast media appearances about my reporting.

I was a 2012 Robert Novak Journalism Fellow and continue to do freelance reporting.
